Born in 1924, Dr. Ben Fusaro began his study of T'ai-chi Ch'uan in 1964 with Robert W. Smith in the D.C. area. Later he studied with William Chen, Ben Lo, and P.S. Tao, as well as with J.J. Soong in Taiwan. He has taught T'ai-chi since 1966 from the University of South Florida to the West Point Academy, NY. He introduced it as a credit course at Queens College, NC in 1969 and at Salisbury State University, MD in 1976. Dr. Ben Fusaro retired from SSU as Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science in 1995 and became a visiting professor at Florida State University. He teaches T'ai-chi Ch'uan near his home in Tallahassee, FL. This video was produced and directed by ken piaskowski in 1993 on Maryland's Eastern Shore.
Bern Fusaro originated the five section teaching methof of the Yang Style Short Form which was originated by Professor Cheng Man-Ching. Ben's performance of the Short form to a seven minute version of Pachelbel's Canon is also his original invention in TAI-CHI-ONE(tm). Dr. Fusaro introduced Environmental Mathematics to the curriculum , and it is becoming an accepted college course. Ben celebrated his 84th birthday August 9, 2008. He attends mathematics conferences and tai-chi seminars throughout the U.S.
